Bike Stand and
Tools for Eliodoro Barzoba Yam, from the village called Laguna Kana in
Quintana Roo, Mexico.
On a recent trip to
Mexico, I was particularly
touched by one
individual, Eliodoro Barzoba Yam, from the village called Laguna Kana. This man
was injured and the only
way to make a living was
repairing bicycles. His
dilemma was his lack of
tools, consisting of
little more than a pair
of pliers. My heart went
out to him as I thought
of the many failed
attempts I have had
repairing my bike
without the proper
tools. Where we are able
to
simply take our bike to a
local mechanic or just
go and purchase the
proper tool, he has no
choice but to work with
what he has, and that is
very little. We would be
frustrated to say the
least but he was simply
content and thankful for
his trusty pliers.
