PURPOSE
OF THE TEAM: To spread
the word about the
message of hope in God's
miracle in bringing Bob
back from "one
breath from death."
On April 6, 2005 Bob
Brubaker faced a
"near death
experience" at
University Hospital in
Denver, Colorado. His
lung collapsed when a
chest tube inserted
after a lung biopsy was
removed. Bob was
literally "one
breath from death"
when a second chest tube
was inserted to save his
life. Following that
experience and Bob’s
time in ICU recovering
from blowing up to five
times his normal size
from the air that went
throughout his body, Dr.
Scott Worthen from
National Jewish Medical
Center was able to find
Bob’s respiratory
problem, a rare disease
called Diffuse Pan
Bronchialitis. As the
diagnosis and treatment
began so has God’s
healing process. Bob has
made remarkable strides
in recovery to the point
where his doctors in
Denver used words like
"amazing" and
"remarkable"
when he went for his
three-month check-up at
National Jewish Medical
Center. For the complete
story see www.bobbrubaker.com.
Bob kept a running
journal with pictures
and continues to provide
updates of his condition
and what God is doing.
We are thankful for
the great support we had
for the "come
back" event in
which Bob, Jan, and
others ran in the Walt
Disney World Marathon in
2006. Since then members
of the team have
continued to participate
in events wearing the
One Breath From Death -
Look What God Can Do
jerseys to let everyone
know about Bob's story
and to be encouraged
about what God can do.
